Challenge

Rebin wants to optimize waste management by using sensors to measure the fill-levels of trash containers. They needed a digital platform to monitor and track the sensor-data and generate optimal waste collection routes.

Solution
Together, we developed a web application that serves as a dashboard and collection route generator. This application needed to be built quickly, securely, and with the future in mind.

We worked as an extension of their IT team. Through close co-creation, we considered how to move quickly and develop the platform to be high-quality and future-proof.

Outcome
A platform ready to enter the market alongside the sensors. The use of the sensors already saved 7.6 tons of CO2.

Client Ambition

  • Rebin is set to optimize waste management. Special sensors monitor the fill levels of bins and containers. This way, they give their customers the ability to only collect the containers that are truly full.
  • Besides saving time and costs, optimizing waste collection routes has a positive ecological impact. Optimized routes mean less CO2 emissions and fewer plastic garbage bags.
  • The sensors collect a variety of data. To extract the right insights and monitor everything, a platform is needed. The platform serves as a dashboard for the intelligent system.
