Who we are
we are an experienced and dynamic company based in Ghent. We develop custom software solutions for SMEs and startups in various sectors. Imagine building Word add-ins based on NLP and RAG to speed up contract writing, or developing software that reads data from hardware devices to enhance festival experiences during live shows. We’re actually helping festival-goers have the time of their lives.
We’re constantly striving for technological solutions that help move the world forward. We do that by a no-nonsense approach and honest and open communication. But especially, we don’t want to be just one of the ‘consultancies’. We want to be different. We’re ambitious and we’re driven, are focused on high-quality software, and we hope you are too.
To help us with this mission, we are looking for an experienced Software Engineer who can fully handle customer projects and thus contribute to our further growth.
What you can expect on a typical day:
- you will work on a project from start to finish: from initial concept to delivery: you will be fully involved, always ensuring that projects are completed on time and meet our client's expectations.
- you organize workshops, document them and analyze the outcomes in Post-Workshop research.
- analyze and communicate risks and trade-offs between different possible solutions, such that informed decisions can be made.
- communicate internally on the project's status and prepare and perform external communication with the client.
- implement this stellar solution by using agile methods.
- even after the product is delivered, you continue to provide high-quality support to our clients by showing the impact the provided solution has and by making sure it keeps running as expected.
What's in it for you?
We offer you an environment where you will:
- be able to work flexibly and autonomously
- develop yourself in many disciplines
- be able to contribute to the future of software building.
- actively collaborate with other software engineers and clients.
- be able to take responsibility.
And of course we'll offer you:
- a competitive salary and extra benefits such as hospital insurance, meal vouchers, pension plan, mobility budget, etc.
- a laptop and smartphone.
Who you are
We'd love you to be:
- yourself, and keep it that way.
- motivated to learn from others, but also to be motivated to spread your findings to others.
- a real team player, able to communicate your visions clearly.
- open to receive constructive feedback from team members, and to provide constructive feedback in return too.
- open and honest, since transparency is key.
- able to work independently.
- fluent in Dutch and English.
- above all: aligned with our mission: deliver high-quality solutions in a no-nonsense approach and committed toward the best results for our customers.
What we are looking for
If you've made it this far into the job posting, you should already have a good idea of who we're looking for. We'll give you a few more pointers:
- at least 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer, or similar function.
- you can tackle challenges head-on, break them down analytically and explain your ideas to both technical and non-technical people.
- you’re in your element with web and/or mobile development (e.g., API, backend, frontend, OAuth, JWT...).
- you know all the principles of relational and NoSQL database technologies.
- writing clean, thoughtful, and documented code is what gets you out of bed in the morning.
- you know how to develop in multiple programming languages.
- you have a tight grasp of the principles of privacy- and security by design.
- you know the principles of CI/CD and DevOps.
